I've been using minoxidil 5% since june and I am still only on my second bottle. It says six squirts twice a day is the correct amount, however when you press the squirter you can apply different amounts of pressure to make it spray. Are you supposed to press it all the way down so you get a big cloud of spray or just a little bit of pressure? Advice would be appreciated.

It's not an exact science, it really doesn't matter. I would give it the full pressure spray if I were you. I routinely, as others do, and use more the the 1ml per application as directed. Of course it would matter how much of the scalp you are trying to regrow hair I would presume. Check out this site for a killer deal on 5% minoxidil.

Use the dropper. If you're not getting 1mL on your scalp, you're not getting the recommended dosage. And you won't get the results you want.

Unless your like a very diffuse norwood 5 or Kojak i think your totally wasting your time using a sprayer.

minoxidil does absolutely nothing unless it goes directly onto the scalp. Nothing is better than a dropper for that.

The thing you guys refer to as "dropper" is the one you squeeze to the black line then rub onto your head yes?

Probably, depends on what make of minoxidil you use, rogaine, regaine, kirkland all the droppers are diffirent. The kirkland ones are terriblle to use, far too long. I use smaller ones that i bought from a chemists. They looky something like this.

Ah, I see. The one the comes with the uk brand Regaine is terrible. You have to keep squishing it into your head to make the minoxidil come out. So a normal dropper is ok as long as it's the right measurement? Nice one Zim.

I havent used UK regaine for a long time, so i cant remember what the droppers are like. Maybe ask at your local chemists if they have any droppers, im sure they could order some or get some online. Yes size is definitely important despite what some people say.

Guys, enough with the dropper sh*t. Dr. Lewenberg says the sprayer is the best and it sprays out the exact amount of medicine. The medicine then seeps down through the hair at the perfect rate of absorbtion. Massive hair growth-bingo.

redbone: So do you believe that those having long hair should use the sprayer?

Although I feel the sprayer is better for sparing minoxidil, a lot of it stays on the hair rather than on the scalp. I'm getting tired of using almost 2 x 60 ml bottles each month with the sprayer :freaked2:

The sprayer is terrible. Has anyone ever had build up from minoxidil? It makes your hair look "greyish" on the over applied areas. The sprayer is for people with large bald spots.

Dr. Lewenberg is an idiot I think. 6 sprays equals 1 ml, filling up the dropper to the 1 ml mark is 1 ml. What is he talking about seeping down? Using the dropper aplly's the minoxidil to the exact spots needed.
