Need some advice on whether I should be concerned.

Hey guys just need some advice here. I basically got my hair cut a couple days ago and I've noticed that my sideburns look kinda thin. I've also noticed I could kinda see my scalp at the top of my head and was wondering whether it is a bald spot (male pattern baldness) or just a cowlick. Just wanted to know what you guys think. Thanks!
