If anyone got any systematic side effects from using spironolactone cream 5% including lower libido etc. I've been very paranoid lately. Thanks.

Yeah absolutely...It gave me finasteride like sides after quitting finasteride.

I think anything you rub on your skin gets into your blood stream, especially the thin scalp.

When I use topical spironolactone, I get sexual sides, and also brain fog.

I've also used topical finasteride, which I found to be just as strong as oral finasteride.

Wow really?... According to pretty much everyone it doesn't cause side effects. Did you get bloodtests runned? I think I might be getting sexual side effects...

Could just be placebo... Placebo is very strong you know. I'm getting my bloodwork checked soon.

Well if my body is capable of producing all the symptoms of androgen deprevation, then I should also be growing a full head of hair soon thanks to the placebo effect. :woot:

 How long were you on Propecia? Ever consider that the side effects from Propecia didn't go away when you started spironolactone? How long were you on spironolactone/Topical finasteride?

Topical spironolactone isn't supposed cause systematic side effects. In any case, I'm going to get bloodwork done tomorrow and post them on here ASAP.

And futhermore people suffering from sides often report that their blood work is normal.

But, what is "normal"?

Unless they have baselines you dont know.

Just because they are within a huge range doesn't mean sh*t. You natural level might be massively different but yet still within range.

I'm growing really tired about reading about "normal" because it exhibits such an ignorance to the complicated thing that is hormones.

GK that isnt a pop at you btw, just so you realise. Its a pop at the pathetic doctors out there.

After taking saw palmetto two years ago I developed the typical finasteride side effects. After dropping sp i started a minoxidil regime and a few months later added spironolactone. My side effects have never fully gone away, and now im starting to worry that this might because i started taking spironolactone. Im gonna start tapering down on the spironolactone and see if I come back to normal. Ill let you know how it works out.
