Hey guys, I just wanted to vent here. I noticed my hair loss around 16 but just thought I was born with a weird hairline. Now at 20, there's no denying I'm losing my hair. Treatment has helped me but I am no where near the man I was before hair loss-in terms of confidence. I go to all of my college courses wearing hats. I use to be so social and now I am the complete opposite. It has completely altered my life and I just pray to god we have more treatments soon. Thanks guys

I know how you feel man. My hair was my pride and joy. Aggressive thinning took it all away. I'd look in the mirror and go "wtf is going on???? why is this happening?!?!"

Once i could no longer hide my bald spots, I began wearing hats everywhere. Lost all confidence. I was no longer a man i used to be.

Yesterday, i went outside without a hat for the first time in like 6 months. Feels good to have some of my hair back. Lots more to go.

My condolences Pavi.

I went to a few parties in college, not that many and they didn't bear much fruit. Baldness was not the problem for me, there are other ways to flunk.

i feel ya brah, i mean i still try to be as social as possible or at least as i used to be, but overall confidence has taken a bit of a hit since i noticed hair loss.

What i dont understand is why people will wear a hat everywhere but wont even consider a wig. i personally dont want to wear a hat no matter how bad my hair gets, but for people who do, a wig may be a good option.

I know. my hair was my identity. It also took a hit on my looks. I wager that hair loss causes someones looks to go down at least 1 and half points. Im lucky, I could afford that but I know most guys cant. :( Hair loss changes everyone for the worse

Used to walk around with a hat as well for about one years. It really gave me a strange reputation "Why are you wearing that hat all the time?", "Do you sleep with it?" really sucked. I stopped that after I started with my regimen and after I saw some first results. These small victories actually gave me the confidence I needed to just not give a damn anymore about it...

I am actually curious about g.i.joeys solution. Do you really wear a whole wig or just a hair piece (or hair system or how it is called)? Do you put that over your existing hair?

It just sucks so much. I'm 20. I should be in the prime of my life. Not dealing with hair loss. My dad only started balding at 30.... I started at 16. My brother at 19. I'm so heartbroken over it. Like, yeah it may be "just hair" to some but I love my hair. I will miss it :(

Hey guys, I'm new here. I just wanted to say that I definitely know how you feel. I started to lose my hair at the age of 18 and it really hit my confidence, wearing a hat has helped me but I don't want to become that person who wears a hat all the time. I'm thinking about starting treatment and so will let you know what I decide and how I get on. I'm glad I found this site and that I can read about other people's experiences. It seems that there might be hope for the future, fingers crossed.

Keep your hair short and your chin up. You have plenty of life beyond hair loss. I feel for you though. Don't let yourself get too down about it. Your hair or lack of will not define you.

My empathy to you also Pavi. My hair loss began @ same age.
As far as your current regimen goes, how far along time wise are you with your treatment?

4 months. I have had a weird experience with everything. Some days my hair looks amazing. Looks perfect, while other days I get depressed at its thinness.

Good. I was hoping to learn you've only been at it for a short span of time.
There's no reason yet to believe you won't experience further progress. As you may be already aware many users may not necessarily reach optimum results up to a year.
Keep at it my friend and hopefully your treatment can help stabilize your hair as well as your compounded distress. :)

Dude I completely understand. Hair is a big part of me, people recognised me by my hair and ladies loved them. Starting to bald just destroyed my self confidence. I luckily am a bit older than you (28), yet this is still hard to accept and cope with. I'm trying my best to fix this, but minoxidil isn't helping. Good luck with your treatment!
