New And Anxious Over Balding At 22 Years Old

Hey everybody.

I'm 22 (on Jan 27th) and worried about my head of hair. To preface this, I'm going to start by saying that my maternal grandfather was likely a NW3-4/4A by the time he was in his mid twenties and my paternal grandfather was probably a NW4A when he was in his 60s. My Dad is currently a NW2.5/3 at 70 with a tiny bit of thinning, but it isn't too noticeable. One of my maternal uncles went bald fairly young (NW7), another had a super thin Norwood 4 in his early 40s (he was deathly ill though) and another has a 4A at 57. Doesn't seem like balding is too too aggressive in my family, but still prevalent. Would like to add I've always had super fine hair, but a ton of it.

Anyway I'm worried whether my crown is thinning and I'll also post my frontal hairline. Am I just freaking out over nothing?

What do you guys think?

In my limited expertise I'd say it's definitely male pattern baldness creeping its way toward a NW2. It would really depend on if you've had that widows's peak sine you were a teenager or if it's a new phenomenon. As for your crown - I see dudes at the gym with no male pattern baldness with wider cowlicks than that all the time, but if yours has gotten any wider then it's prolly male pattern baldness.

So you wouldn't say it's a NW2 yet? As far as I know NW2 is just considered a mature hairline, but if it's farther than that then

And nah, I haven't had a widow's peak like that, but I'm almost sure I was never below a Norwood 1...or 0.5 at the least. My hairline has always naturally gone up at my right temple a bit.

Honestly have no clue if it's gotten wider or not. Lighting and angles can make it look nonexistent...and I mean regular angles, not ones you have to bend your back 57 degrees to the right to get to.

Yeah I’d say it’s just entering NW2 territory. Can really tell what kind of transparency you’re dealing with cause of the way you pulled it back like that but I’d say it looks very normal and no one I know would think that hairline is anything more than a (good looking) widow’s peak.

I appreciate your replies man. Hopefully your situation improves as well.

Anybody have any other opinions?
