i was wondering if someone with some experience could help me out. i am 21 yrs old and have a pretty full head of hair but i can tell it is starting to thin out. the crown is a little thinner but the front side area above my temples has thinned out a little more. i have read all over this site to start early, so i plan on taking proscar immediately and cutting it into quarters to save money. this should help prevent anymore hair from thinning and hopefully grow back within a year the little bit i lost. my question is, should i start applying minoxil to help grow back the hairline on the sides above my temples? i have heard propecia works generally on the top of the head but not the front sides of the hairline, will minoxil work in this area? any success stories? thanks a lot guys.

Temple/hairline area can be difficult. While the propecia should slow or halt the recession, it's unlikely to get you fully back to where you once were. I'd definitely consider adding min to better the odds. Don't forget the nizoral.

If it were me, I would start on the Big Three and add 5% sprio to the hairline.

Good luck

Good call Bruce. I think that spironolactone could be a huge solution to hairline problems in early stages of male pattern baldness.
