Hello, I'm new here. My name is Robert and I'm 40 years old. Here is a brief
summary of my story:
At around age 37 I noticed an increase in hair thinning on the crown of my
head. The thin area is about 2 inches long and 2 inches high on my crown.
Technically, it is NOT a "bald spot" because there is still hair on my crown; it is
just very thin and noticeable to the point where people stare.![Frown :( :(](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)
At age 38, I decided to finally buzz my hair with the 1/2 clippers. I would
buzz it every week, hoping that it would hide my "thin spot". I did this
every week for about 2 years.
Now that I'm 40, I have decided that I want to give hair loss chemicals a chance.
I don't expect to regrow all of my hair - I'm just hoping that my hair will grow
thicker on top just to cover up the "thin spot" on my head.
So....four months ago I started the following regimen:
REGIMEN: (for the past 4 months up to the present)
* 10,000 mcg Biotin, one per day. (Inspired by Michael Peak on YouTube)
* Regenepure DR/NT shampoo
* Lipogaine Big 3 shampoo
* Lipogaine 5%minoxidil (no azelaic acid)
* Kirkland 5% minoxidil
* Rogain 5% minoxidil foam
* Nizoral %1 ketaconazole shampoo
* Lasergain XL with 21 lasers (every other day for at least 15 minutes)
* Lots of leafy greens and vegetables
* Increased water consumption
* Decreased sugar consumption
I wash my hair 5 days per week before work, choosing any of the shampoos
listed above. Once my hair is dry, I then apply any minoxidil on my
scalp before work. I again apply minoxidil at bedtime.
BTW, I'm not ready to try Finasteride or Dutasteride at this point. I just
want to continue the regimen above and see what results I get.
After 4 months of using biotin, minoxidil, and ketaconazole shampoos,
I have noticed new hair growing on parts of my body where it has NEVER
grown before! I've got new hair all over the back of my hands, knuckles,
wrists, inner forearms, and ear lobes.
As for the crown of my head, I'm not sure if I'm getting results because
I didn't photograph my head before starting the treatment. I also don't
look at my crown every day. But, I have noticed that there is significantly
LESS hair loss. Now I only see 3 or 4 fallen hairs on my hand during showers.
Also, my barber made the statement that I have "thick hair", which really
shocked me.
Also, I have noticed that my dandruff problem is gone! In the past my scalp
was very itchy. If I scratched my scalp I would often get lots of "white gunk"
lodged in my fingernails, along with fallen hair. I probably scratched off most of
my hair because I was always scratching my itchy crown. This problem seems
to be fixed now. I just hope I can get a little more hairs to come back on my
crown.
Question: What do you think is causing new hairs to grow on my
ear lobes and inner wrists? I have never had hair in those areas before.
Is it the biotin? I'm pretty sure I didn't get minoxidil splashed equally on both
inner wrists and both earlobes, so I'm curious what caused that?
Question: Do you think I have a good chance to cover up the thin
area on my crown with the above regimen? I don't expect full recovery, I just
want it cover it up more.
Thank you!
