I'm 22 years old with a receding hairline. I first noticed it about 1 year ago and it hasn't gotten to bad but I don't want it to get any worse. It seems like I shed quit a bit but I have long hair so it might just seem like a lot. I don't notice any thinning but again it might not be noticeable due to having long hair. I've done some research and I think the receding is due to dht (I'm on trt). After doing a lot of research I've decided I am not willing to try any oral medication due to the possible side effects. I'd rather go bald than loose my libido. I started using an organic shampoo called Avalon Organics Thickening Shampoo about 1 month ago. It contains saw palmetto and has no sodium lauryl or laureth sulfate. I haven't noticed any difference from the regular cheap shampoo I've been using. I looked into minoxidil and found that it only works for a few years. I'm thinking about trying nizoral. Here are a few questions I have:
1) Would this alone help with a receding hairline?
2) Should I get 1% or 2%?
3) How many days per week do I use it?
4) Where is a good source to buy it from?
5) Should I still use the organic shampoo or just regular cheap shampoo like vo5?
6) Any side effects or reason I shouldn't try this regimin?
Sorry for the long post guys, any help would greatly be appreciated.
