"Of the 11,909 men with 5α-RI exposure and without prior sexual dysfunction and who were evaluated for new PED, 167 (1.4%) developed new PED lasting for ≥90 days after stopping the 5α-RI (median 1,348 days after stopping 5α-RI, interquartile range (IQR) 631.5–2,320.5 days). Of the 530 men with new ED, 167 (31.5%) had new PED."

"Of 4,284 young men exposed to finasteride ≤1.25 mg/day, and without prior sexual dysfunction and who were evaluated for new PED, 34 (0.79%) developed PED (median 1,534 days after stopping 5α-RI, IQR 651–2,351 days). Of 103 young men with new ED, 34 (33%) had new PED."

So in like 1/3 the ed is persistent. What do you think of those numbers? Accurate?

Where does this abstract mention androgens receptor upregulation?

Study looks ok to me, not great but ok. Keep in mind they're using imperfect data. If I understand correctly they reviewed medical records rather than spoke to each person.

It's not about AR.

It looks like 2,4% people got ed while taking low dose finasteride. This probably is not more than in the average population. If this was a case-control study, there probably wouldn't have been a difference.

That's what I'm saying, I have friends my age (24-26) that say they NEED p**rn to get it up while masutrbating. I can get off just fine just using my mind and I'm on finasteride. I think actual ED occurrence in today's society without hormone altering drugs gets overlooked.

That said, the longer I take finasteride the more anxiety I get about persistent sides AFTER cessation. I will probably take another month break this summer to see how I get on without the drug. I've taken 2 very solid breaks in the past and always returned to normal full functioning pre finadteride me, just always lost some hair in the midst of it. But I'd be lying if I said I'm not nervous about Pfs.

What dysfunction are you having while on finasteride then? What do you expect to become normal?

Thanks!

Hey man, I have 0 dysfunctions on finasteride but all this data implying that when I stop I'll get hit with ED isn't the most motivating stuff to hear lol.
