Hey guys so I'm pretty young 24 and thus far I've been using Rogaine foam for 6 months on and off.
because I work a lot I kept of forgetting to put it on.. and from twice a day I went to once and some days I would skip because I kept on forgetting
ANYWAYS... as of three weeks ago, I started using finasteride and my question is when should I expect to see some regrowth? -my hairline is good it's just the vortex that is really thin and 40% visible- and should I use rogaine with it or should I wait to see if I see results?

The most common thing with Finasteride that a lot of people experience is a decrease in shedding and potentially a stop of it quite significantly. If you start early, Finasteride may potentially see you regain some of what you have lost but it's far from a magic pill. But, while saying that, some people do experience regrowth, no matter what stage they are at now but people react differently so it's far from a given.

The good news is finasteride works best on the crown, the not so good news is it's mainly a maintenance drug but there is a good % of people who manage to get some regrowth. I'd say anywhere between 6-14 months you should be noticing maintenance or even some regrowth. I recommend staying consistent with minoxidil 1x a day at least.

@g.i joey Do you think topical Finasteride 2.5% gel is worthwhile if I am looking to have kids in the next few years? The sexual sides, especially since they can be long term, and potential sides to pregnant women are making me really hesitant. I am thinking minoxidil is better than nothing.

If you really wanna effectively fight male pattern baldness you're gonna have to at least try finasteride, everything else is useless without being on a DHT blocker. minoxidil can maybe help you for a year or 2 but it's not gonna be doing anything for your actual male pattern baldness but it's still better than nothing.

Imo I would try finasteride if you're over 18, if you do happen to get sides just stop the drug and you'll be fine, at least you can say you've tried and move forward without wondering "what if"

U may shed but so what? Statistically it works for 84% of men.
I was just wondering what the chances would be of another shed after I've already shed on rogaine and regrown a lot of hair ? Don't really want another shed over Christmas
