yes they have proven that you can save 1cm^2 of your scalp and having just 35% dgt reduction instead of 55% which is not even that impressive. in my opinion the goal of this study was clearly misleading people because who sets up a study life that? that dose is ridiculous for actual therapeutic use. but sure, if they cut the finasteride concentration down to 0.2mg instead of 2.5 then it gets interesting and you can actually work with that. however the question then becomes whether surface area is able to absorb more and thus cause systemic sides more than applying a higher concentration in a very small areaIt's actually a great study, they've proven the concept works in a large group of people, and that it reaches a steady state of less systemic DHT suppression than oral finasteride for no increase in adverse effects or loss of efficacy
I wish lower concentrations than 0.25% finasteride were tried in at least one arm, but that will come over time (and that's become the standard topical formula and so makes different studies more comparable)
i dont think thats ehat they did. have you read the full text?1cm^2 was just the study area where every subject sprayed at least once, and was used for before/after assessments
spray area seems to be a much wider diameter than that, there's a picture of the applicator in the study appendix
then they sprayed up to 3 more times in other, non-overlapping, balding areas (individualized as directed by doctor):
"Additional sprays (2-4), if recommended by the study doctor, were applied to cover the rest of the baldness area"
"Each actuation delivers 50 µL of solution, equivalent to 0.114 mg of finasteride"
How stupid are you? What company that is pursuing selling a drug doesn't do the research to support that drug? That's how the global health care market works.oh wait.. the funding came from Almirall, a pharma company that released a topical finasteride solution in 2020. is it jzst by accident? of course! no hair loss researcher would sell their pathetic reputation for sh*t like this-unless of course, we are talking about hair loss reseaech after all, of course it is fucked
Just not how FDA works. How stupid are you? What company that is pursuing selling a drug doesn't do the research to support that drug? That's how the global health care market works.
Yeah I could just use it on my crown - so where’s the topical GB bîtchez?!?4. For non-diffuse thinners, you can limit yourself to spraying just the balding areas like this study and expect a good outcome and less serum DHT suppression. You could view the validation that you can target specific areas as a positive
What?Just not how FDA works.
