I'm worrying a lot about hair loss lately and while I informed myself a lot and know about all the treatment options I think that HM is definitely looking like the best available option to me. The only problem is that no one seemingly knows exactly when it is coming out right?

Therefore I just wanted to ask in general (what the general consensus combined with information is) if HM will be available around 2012 or not?

The earliest estimate (Note: the word estimate) Intercytex has for the release of their product is 2010 if they go with Phase III. It could be available in 2012 in the U.S. The results from Phase II might be good enough to skip Phase III and go straight to market in 2009. 2008 is very unlikely unless a miracle happens.

No one honestly knows its all speculation here. I'm still hoping its out in 2010.

I'd say I know a reasonable amount about this topic, but I really couldn't give an estimate. Realistically, don't expect it for at least a couple of years.

Not consider traditional treatments? Is your loss quite advanced then?

Well ma loss in not really advanced....the front is thinner and the temples are also thinner but it is not bad. I was definitely considering treatment with Finasterid(topicals too messy)but I'm undecided about finasteride now because no one seems to know the long long term effects and articles like that one have me really concerned:

I could definitely live with lesser libido or sex drive but taking finasteride at the possible price of a neurodegenerative disease seems just too much for my taste.

If these neurodegenerative thing got cleared out with finasteride etc. and Fins negative impact on nerve functioning was shown to be minor and not threatening I'd definitely give finasteride a shot as like I said I could live with lower libido but these nerve thing got me really afraid.

Opinions?
