Newbie to this, don't know which way to turn

I've read and read and read forums and wesbites for 2 days and still don't know what to do for the best, so I apologise for posting but I thought it may even clear things up in my own mind, but of course any advice would be welcomed.

Ok so I have a resonable hair line, Im 22 years of age, but it is going, definately. Its getting particually thin at the front and looking a bit dodgy. However a good cut and style and it looks perfectly fine, for now. If it didn't get any worse I would be happy. So thats what has brought me round to the idea of Propecia, but I have my concerns.

You won't be suprised to learn that shedding is my biggest fear, even though from what I have read its perfectly normal thing to go through. What worries me is seeing my resonable hair turning even worse all of a sudden as a result of shedding and panicing.

If I did decide to go for it, whats the best way? Should I see my local GP(Im in the UK) or try this Boots Hair Retention programme or just order some myself? I'm a bit wary of that, I would prefer to see someone first I thnk.

I'm still not sure I want to go through with it, I mean my brothers are both in their early thirties and while their hair did go to a certain extent, they haven't gone completely, still both have a resonable amount. So Im wondering if mine will similiary stop like theirs seems to have done, or only go at a very slow rate. Can the 'cure' be worse then doing nothing at all? I was thinking of just going for 0.5mg to reduce the risk of side effects rather then the 1mg but should that only be advised by a Doctor or can you do it of your own choosing?

Sorry for all the questions, just trying to get an idea of what direction I should turn!

First you should go to see a dermatologist. If he doesn’t want to cooperate buy it online.

Many people take 0.5mg. But I think you should try with 1mg. first, and if you get any side effects lower the dose.

Don’t waste your money on the Boots Hair Retention programme.

And use Nizoral shampoo 2-3 times a week.

Ive been looking into that Nizoral becuase I have an itchy scalp and dandruff as well so that would be a good start. Is it best to see a Doctor first? It seems pretty strong stuff. Are there any down sides?

Thanks again.

then u need to get on finasteride asap

the far majority of sheds (incluiding all of mine) are completely unnoticeable to other people. u only notice because u see yourself losing so much more hair, but u cant tell any difference on your head

i would just order some yourself. i heard the boots programme is overpriced and derms usually know less than us about hairloss. go on inhouse or united pharmacies and get some Fincar, will cost u about a fiver a month.

no one can know how much more you'll continue losing. the fact is with finasteride you'll lose hair on a much lower rate than without it. if you'r afraid of sides just go on 0.5mg or 0.25mg
