Has anyone got experience with Nizoral causing headaches/nausea? I use it Mon/Wed/Fri and leave it on for around 3-5 minutes per time.

I've been having headaches fairly often recently (mild headaches most days), I work overseas and recently had a month off back home and didn't suffer from headaches - the only thing I can think that was different is that I wasn't using Nizoral for that month. Diet, exercise, sleep etc were all fairly similar to usual.

Those side effects are for oral ketoconazole.

Op, Nizoral shampoo can't cause headaches unless you are drinking it or pouring it on an open wound. I suggest you look for other environmental factors if your headaches are dependent on location. Maybe you have allergic rhinitis that is triggered at home and it is causing nasal congestion hence headaches.

These sources report headaches also for the shampoo. It is also true that headaches can be triggered by different causes that maybe just happen to act at the same time of the shampoo.

Less common—For shampoo or gel
  • Dryness or oiliness of the hair and scalp
  • headache

I can't see a decent english speaking Doctor where I am so I"m taking a break for a week to see how I feel.

I've considered other environmental factors. I've got no noticeable nasal congestion although I do live in a city with high pollution so it could always be a cause. That said I've lived here on and off for 6 years and I've only starting headaches in the past 5 months which coincides with the headaches. Correlation does not imply causation however so I will give it a few weeks and see what happens.

I had seen that headaches was a rare side effect which was part of the reason I asked the question initially.
