I've been using Nizoral shampoo 2% for about a year now, and I have to say--I don't see the use in it! Whenever I use the stuff (about 3X a week) my scalp itches horribly for the remainder of the day (I have to use Aloe Gel to cool it down), and my hair is as brittle as dry wood. I'm thinking of switching down to 1%, since I have always had very fine hair...but I doubt that it could make much of a difference.
Also, I recently went camping for a week, of course I couldn't take a shower or shampoo my hair but went swimming for hours every day in the lake. By the end of the week my hair/head felt fantastic! It was thick and didn't fall out even when I pulled on it. As soon as I got home and took a shower--slapped on some Nizoral...hair fell out, scalp itchy as all hell. Even when I use my normal thickening shampoo and conditioner it itches. The only time it really doesn't itch is after I put on some Folligen (this is some gooood stuff) or on days when I don't use shampoo just rinse.
I hate to bore you with all this and sound like a vain woman but my main question is--does 1% Nizoral make a marked difference in reduced irritation? Doesn't make sense to me that LESS of the stuff would make it LESS itchy, but I have read that on here. Also, is T-gel a good replacement or do people only use it in conjunction with Nizoral? What kind of shampoos/conditioners do you guys recommend??
Thanks,
-Luther
