Non prescription Propecia? Some help?

Hi there... this is my first post on this board. Just like to say it feels comfortable looking around here. Kinda gives you hope seeing all these people with success stories...

Anyway, here's mine. I'm 20 and about a year ago noticed my hair was disapearing. I have, or should say had a pony tail until my hair started thinning all over the scalp area. I havent been to the hair dressers since and tend to cut my own hair now - badly.

Anyway... I started using Regaine 5% and Nisim shampoo which im guessing will delay thinsg for a while, and then went to see my doctor about propecia. She was a woman doctor... I asked her about Propecia, she didnt know anything about so couldnt help me. Bang... all hope gone.

I'm, not totally familiar with all the hair loss drugs, and was wondering if there was a pill medication that is proven to work and I could order it on the net without a prescription. Propecia, Finesteride, whatever... I need something to help me.

She's never heard of Propecia????? Where has she been the last few years. Your lucky she didn't try to drill a hole in your head to let the hair loss demons out....Sheesh.
If I were you I'd try to go to a Dermatologist that deals with hair loss issues on a regular basis. At least get a real professional opinion before starting any type of hormone altering drug.

Yeah, I was pretty suprised too. The whole purpose of my visit was to get her to prescribe it for me. Saying that though, some of my friends have never heard of it... perhaps you only look for it when you are going through hair loss...

But then again, she is a doctor...

I'll check out finesteride, thanks a lot... But yes, I think some professional opinion would be good before I take it...
