At age 16 its important to not start anything until you had your hormone levels checked, esp the thyroid. Also do some research to determine if you have any other symptoms of any thyroid disorder, like underweight, difficulty gaining weight, brittle hair, read the symptoms and evaluate yourself but have your levels checked regardless. If everything is ok you can consider Fijna but maybe your doctor will want you to wait till youre older.Hi guys I'm only 16 and already I have started with the receding hairline (Norwood 1.5). Before you ask yes i'm 99% sure it's happening, I don't know my farther but my mum said that my fathers side of the family is bad for hair loss and i'm almost certain I've inherited their hair loss genes, sucks to be me haha. Good job i'm decent looking, anyway...
I'm about to start minoxidil foam on the hairline and nizoral shampoo once / twice a week.
Now, I think this might be effective for a couple of years at maintaining my hairline, however I'm aware that eventually, the rest of my head will catch up due to DHT still being able to reach my follicles.
What are my options for trying to block some of the DHT? I'm aware nizoral helps slightly.
Finasteride obviously isn't an option so young, i'd rather fully develop as a man than have a full head of natural hair, however both would obviously be great
The only thing I can think of is topical RU58841? What are my other options for blocking DHT (without effecting my whole body). I've also heard of topical spironolactone, but is this even effective?
Also is Saw Palmetto too risky for me?
Cheers guys![]()
