Not Much Happening After 10 Months Of Minoxidil

Hi, I've been using minoxidil liquid 5% for about 10 months now and I've seen no difference. Things might have become a little worse now. At first i thought i think had some small gains around my old hairline where some little hairs sprouted. But the last months or so it looks like the part behind my hairline(corners) has thinned/receded some.

I use 1 ml a day from the brand Foligain which i ordered from biovea.com.
My first batch i ordered has been different from the second.

The first one had a different smell and caused me some dry skin with a little itching at the end of my supply (5-6th month). When i ordered a new supply of minoxidil I also ordered Revita shampoo to battle the itchiness of the minoxidil. Funny enough the new supply of minoxidil seems to be less irritating than the previous one. I did not get any white flakes when i rub my scalp after applying minoxidil and i did not get an annoying itch.

I still have one bottle left which will last me for 2 months and i'm not sure if i should continue using minoxidil after that. I'm not sure if i'm not a responder or not. Something important that i might add is that i did not experience a shed when starting minoxidil as far as i know. I also added some light dermarolling every few days on a clean scalp.

Welcome to the club. I've been using Minoxidil foam once a day since October 5th (less than you I guess) with absolutely no gains, only a worsened hair line. I never got the extreme shed, just a very slight increase 3 weeks into it and now again 5-6 months later but I'm not getting any gains, not even short lived.

Apparently you need a certain amount of the minoxidil enzyme sulfotransferase to be a good responder. I’m feeling the same. No difference.

I'm waiting to see if I am a responder but for the lost month upon starting minoxidil I've had an insane shed. Hopefully this is a good sign. Also if your'e not making progress at once a day wouldn't it be obvious that you should give twice a day a go ?

...but twice a day will at best speed things up? If you have nothing going for you after 10 months I doubt two times a day will do any difference.

Pretty sure I remember reading that those who are not responders at 5% should move on to try 10 and 15%. This combined with wounding does give results to even those with low sulfotransferase enzyme if I'm correct. There is also oral minoxidil. Both of these obviously have greater risk for sides.

Yes, but twice the strength is not the same as twice a day of normal minoxidil.

I am curious as whether or not starting sooner matters. I am OCD about it. I look in a vanity mirror. I am thinking for now, I can try it, I can grow it out, and alternatively, I can undercut. I was thinking of going shorter but, I fear the shedding. Like, if it leaves a terrible reaction to my head, going short on a undercut looks stupid.
