Note: Minoxidil Foam May Fade Scalp Micropigmentation

If you are considering scalp micropigmentation, please take note that it has been my experience that minoxidil foam will cause the pigmentation to fade and/or turn to a premature "blue/green" hue in areas where applied.

It does not matter if you resume using the minoxidil foam during the first week after the initial waiting period before washing the scalp or a month or more after your last pigmentation procedure.

I am not sure about the affect of other minoxidil formulations on the pigmentation, but I felt it was important to share this for those considering the procedure.

Nevertheless, I am pretty happy with the micropigmentation procedure, despite the fact that I may no longer be able to use minoxidil.

Hey Lost, I have given a downpayment to a company to have this SMP procedure done and the rogaine foam was one of my concerns. I was told that if used within first month following procedure that it would fade pigments, but I had a strong suspicion that it would fade it regardless of the length of time since the procedure. Since you are no longer taking rogaine, have you lost more hair on the crown area or back area of your head? I already take propecia daily. Does this help prevent further hair loss on the crown area? Which company did you go with? Thank you in advance, and thanks for heads up on rogaine.
