Anyone has some input on what is going on with my head of hair. I been on finasteride since january and since june I have been shedding. I can see my scalp more than ever. I'm thinning all over. When I first started to lose my hair it was only long ones. Now I am losing long and short hairs. I have a f*cked hair do. I'm 22 but i look 30. My brother also has the same thinning problem that occured about a year before mines started. My hair is starting to look more and more like his. He doesn't treat his hair. Hes 29.

I'm treating my hair with my regimen posted in my sig, but why is it my hair is starting to look like my brothers even though I took action within the first 6 months of my hair loss?

Who else is going through the same dilemma as me or knows something about my situation that could give me some input? Should I stop finasteride?

What is the solution for thinners? I'm just frustrated with looking through all these threads and not able to find ways to treat my hair problem.

The faith shattering 9 month shed is often discussed. My suggestion would be not to drop finasteride.

The worst worst senario is a Telogen Effluvium due to the low levels of dht. But this is highly unlikely and is not a scarring(permanent) form of loss.

You have nothing to lose buy persisting, only to gain. (hair)

my shedd exp.

i am since 11 month on finasteride., shed came around the 6th month and lasted 3 month, then dropping from approx. 100 to 35 (average) per day. so: since two month no shedd anymore, but cannot say if regrowth is coming. i would also suggest that you should go further with finasteride. after 12-14 month you should be able to tell, if it helped or not... best, kkoo

Yes. About 7 days into finasteride, I had what could be classified as a Telogen Effluvium. I was pulling 15 to 20 hairs per pull from the front of my scalp. About 5 to 8 hairs per pull on the sides and back.
