Hey guys, I am a 26yo NW5 (maybe stage 4 to 5 idk). I am on Finasterid since 3 months and it kicks in got some side effects but I will continue. Its clear that I will need a hair transplant but due expensive Costa and that I will Start my full time job as a young Programmer I will need 2 years to get the 15k€.

My plan is to save all my hair and maybe grew some more to save some donor hair.

So I just ordered minoxidil a month a go and now i have it here, as I read a lot of posts in this board I am not sure now if I should Start it or let it be.

Because Its a bit annoying to apply and a bit of expensive, my question should i give it a try or is it just wasted money.

I add a picture AS well if it helps,

Greetings

You are quite bald on the tip top of your head but the "sides" are way high up. If you pull on the hair that is remaining up top does it come out? If not than minoxidil might not be necessary. The areas that are bad are too far gone for minoxidil imo.

Hey thanks for reply. Remaining hair is strong and aswell it doesnt go far down in sides and back. I just take finasteride to keep this status otherwise no hair transplant would be possible.

So in your opinion minoxidil isnt worth the try because the balding spot ist to wide?

Where are you getting your minoxidil? Kirkland off of Amazon is probably cheapest for a reliable brand

I pay about 38$USD for Foligain Brand from biovea.net 3*60ml

But if it doesnt have any affect on nw5 stage its wasted money, therefore im not sure about it

Based on the state of hair things at the moment, your best goal would be to stabilize and halt further loss, then look into a transplant. If you can stabilize, then it's a doable goal.

Yep thats the plan at the Moment ive a lost area with about 128cm². The fact that i have a not so big head might help. FUT is in planing for 2019/20 as I can efford it, but got 8k€ bills to pay which ive invested for my examen.
I think if i can stabalize 5000 grafts will do the trick.

At Tomcat i thought is just could skip medical treatment with a hair transplant, so i wasnt really well inforfmed, know that i have a clear look i also think I Starter late but AS i keep my status its just late and not too late

I think full meds and transplant is your only way. But it is realistic to achieve a solid look in 3 years.

May I ask how your grandpa from motherside is looking?

Wow impressive, my doctor told me its the grandpa motherside which we follow.
Get on Finasteride. I am on it too. Got lil sides but nothing too bad.

I think it will stabilize your hair and maybe grow some back. minoxidil is more of a initial push I would add it when you do the transplant.

I wish you the best

Yep this might be the common grandpa-mother-son thing. In the first 10 days my balls just hurt, but get over it. No i have a Zero libido thing Harms me pretty bad. But I guess with this indicator it may be helping but will more in 6 months.

Today is day 40.

Hope hair transplant will work for me would be OK if the crown is just Sligtly covered.

Good whises to you, too

In all seriousness, @Devop911, it is possible to regrow all of your hair back.

There is a guy on this board who took alpicort F, I believe, which is an estrogen topical. See threads
by @whatevr .

You have to do this fast, because after a few more years, the follicle will be dead. (Since
you lost it recently, it's probably still alive). Also, topical Progesterone could probably grow
all of it back.
