Odd Positive Dutasteride Side Effects?

I've been on Dutasteride for about a month and a week, while last week hitting the 1 year mark on Minoxidil...

So far the Dutasteride seems to be helping the small (partially terminal) minoxidil hairs that have been about 0.5cm long in my temples for 6+ months, as they seem to be getting longer at last.

As for Side Effects

In the first week or so, i had elevated testosterone levels, as i felt the urge to work out (which i hadn't done for months) and even started practising some martial arts with a friend as i had the sudden interest to fight... And i've always been one of those kids who lets people walk all over him (due to low confidence from low test?)

I've found that i'm not so sex obsessed, so don't have 'happy time' 3+ times a day any more, it's more like 3/4 times a week... Which is positive because i was previously in bad / depressed moods afterwards.

I haven't found ANY trouble when getting an Erection, infact i'd say the erections i do get are MUCH harder than before.
Whether that is somehow down to the Dutas, or an indirect action by not goin at it every 10 mins i don't know, but it's good.

The only time in my life that i've ever had 'morning glory' was between 13 and 15, i then started hairloss at 15 and haven't had a morning erection since (now 19).
After some testing, i've found that if i take a Dutasteride when waking, then go back to sleep for another couple of hours then i wake up with a (stiff but slightly limp) erection about 70% of the time.

Semen is just fine.

Orgasms are SO much f*ckin better it's unbelievable... Don't seem to last much longer, but before (this sounds disgusting but is the only way to describe it) it was like a little dribble, like a water tap with no pressure.
Now it's more like a split second hose at full force, which is something i never even experienced when first discovering sexuality.

I have always had really bad insomnia and anxiety which still persists, so i'm not going to suggest that Dutasteride has caused this.

I have experienced 2/3 days of light depression, but i'm not attributing that to Dutasteride, as it was due to our Dog dying from cancer which spread to most of her body.

As i'm only a month and a bit into it, i can't draw a proper conclusion from this, so i'm waiting for the 6+ month mark first.

However, i don't think i've heard of anything like this before, so would you expect all of this to be down to the Dutasteride, or a placebo effect?
It's genuine stuff on a prescription.

You're writing all this a bit early on

I'm sorry but i expect you to have negative sides down the line.

You gained increased libido etc due to the DHT being supressed which means more free testosterone floating about now its not being converted to DHT.

Over time this "spare" testosterone will be converted into estrogen and associated things such as SHBG. It is then you'll notice either a balancing out back to your old self, or even, and very possibly, a slow slump in libido to a point of ED.

Just watch careful as your body goes through these hormonal changes.

EDIT - You note from your title "odd positive sides"....these arent odd. If anything many, many people have had this initial burst in increased libido.

Yeah i know i was writing that up a bit too early, but before now i hadn't found anyone mentioning anything other than negative side effects lol.

Anything i can do to soak up / eliminate the excess Estrogen if/when i get it?
I should be alright about the SHBG, as i drink alot of Green Tea (and i mean alot, 2-4 litres a day, top quality too not the cheapo store brands).

A week on and i'm still going strong if you know what i mean, but next time i update i'll be sure to leave it a few months, or if i get a serious side worth mentioning.

Please keep up updated, im interested in your progress

yes, 50-100mg of zinc a day 5 days a week would be a good start at trying to control your E levels. If that doesnt work there are other, less natural ways of surpressing your estrogen.
