Hi Guys,
I was using finasteride for more than a month(great results almost no empty temples on short hair), but I stopped for a week+ due to sides(I took 1mg everyday). In the last 2-3 days I notice that my scalp getting oily again(like before finasteride treatment) and along that pretty massive shedding. while I was on finasteride my scalp was dry = no sebum at all. do you think that in my case the root cause for my hair loss is the sebum? maybe I need just to get rid of the sebum and that will stop my hair loss?

Thanks in advance for your advices guys.

Okay.

Let's ask the following questions.

Does DHT cause sebum and an oily scalp ? If not, what does ?

Does DHT cause heart disease and heart problems, as hair loss correlates to heart problems ?

Is the correlation with heart problems due to lower social status?

Guys thanks for your replies.
I currently have oily & itchy scalp along with massive shedding which I guess caused by high levels of DHT. I wonder if the fact that I stopped finasteride immediately & not gradually causing my DHT to raise on "full power"(like hormonal imbalance state) and if so, should I expect a decrease of oily & itchy scalp in the near days or weeks?

Thanks again guys for your help.
Very appreciated.

So how can you explain the dry scalp while I used finasteride & now after two weeks of not taking it, i'm experiencing oily scalp every day?
This is really weird..I remember other times in my life that I'd oily & itchy scalp and I'm pretty sure that on those times I wasn't on finasteride...

Thanks for your help man.

Does DHT go overpower for a while after stopping Finasteride?

The oily scalp is due the excess of dht, it's normal in people that have male pattern baldness.

When i was taking finasteride my scalp was dry too, but once you stop taking, the body continue to produce dht..
