I just purchased 1 month supply of Rogaine Foam from Walgreens for about 26 dollars. Didnt have the 90 day supply.
(Im weary about getting on finasteride as well).
So..
can anyone give me any real good updated advice on the technique for applying this. will be applying on my hairline and temple area only. THANKS!

well if you could get a membership to sams club or costco that would be good. I got a 4 pack for $50.

Applying it isn't too bad. It takes a few tries. I take 2 fingers and scoop some out of the cap. Then i just kind of smear into my hair. You'll get the hang of it.

I would not get on minoxidil if I were you. You can check my story on success it's Lorenzo.

Take better pics and show everyone. The ones you posted on the other thread were fuzzy.

You've already been given many suggestions including a very good one above suggesting not to start minoxidil. You don't even appear to have a hair loss problem, but if indeed you do, all you need at this point is finasteride. There is your best suggestion if you chose to heed it, or will you just start another thread asking the same questions over and over?

You can apply the foam directly to your scalp, then difuse it with your fingers. You'll become an expert.

Eventually.

Do you realize that you have to take finasteride for the rest of your life if you want to combat your hair loss? finasteride is by no means a cure for hair loss. So adding minoxidil (which is much better at regrowing lost hair than finasteride) to your regimen is not a bad idea. Especially now that the Foam is around and its so easy to use.

do you not want to take finasteride? i was just looking at your regime. and it looks good.. thats what i was going to do...but finasteride will halt alot of my hair loss. where as minoxidil will just regrow it.

how well has spironolactone worked for u?.
does it block about as much dht as finasteride? or close to it?

No, I do not want to take finasteride. However, if it just so happens that my regimen proves to be ineffective (which has not been the case yet) then I'll certainly add finasteride. But so far, I have no reason to add it yet as my regimen has been doing fine so far. Oh, and spironolactone isn't as strong at blocking DHT as finasteride. But spironolactone still does a good job on its own. How effective it is, like other products, is relative to the individual though.

As far as minoxidil and finasteride -- my suggestion was not for you to replace finasteride with minoxidil. My suggestion was rather that you should add minoxidil in combination with finasteride. Because minoxidil is significantly better than finasteride in terms of regrowing hair. minoxidil won't halt the loss though, and that's where finasteride comes in. That's why those 2 products are part of the BIG 3.
