OMG minoxidil

I did a search on this topic but did not find what I was looking for, so here goes.

I was wondering if there is a difference between Rogain vs Generic minoxidil,
I bought some Wal-mart brand the other day,- EQUATE. Is this stuff oaky or comparable to Rogaine, but half the price?
