Hi, my name's OMGWTFBBQ. I like long walks on the beach, wine, the company of a nice....
oh wait.
wrong place.
ANYWAY
Here's my basic background -
31 years old
healthy in all the ways that matter (okay, I have a cold right now)
male
2 kids
high stress levels at work and full load @ school
I've had diffuse thinning in the front of my head for years now, and worse at the crown. I think, from what I've read so far, that I fit the description of male pattern baldness pretty well.
It's not very aggressive, though - I've been thinning since I was probably 21 or so, and it's just now to a point where I really think I either need to start doing something about it OR just shave it all off... since my head's not the prettiest in the world and I'm a bit leery to see what I'd look like without hair, I decided to see what I could do about it.
So here I am, on these wonderful forums, looking for answers. I've already started using Revita (which I like as a shampoo regardless of whether it works or not) every day for about 3 or 4 weeks now (I haven't noticed any definite difference one way or the other. I don't shed, as far as I can tell - like I said, the thinning is extremely gradual. I think that it's essentially a few hairs decide not to grow back once their lifespan is over or something.
I've considered ordering finpecia from united pharmacies, since the price actually seems better than what I would get even with a prescription + insurance here in the states. I'd be happy to consider alternatives, however.
I'm not going to do any topicals like minoxidil or whatever though - I can't be bothered to apply that stuff twice a day for the rest of my life. Are there any shampoos or conditioners that would substitute for the topicals in an effective manner? I'd love a new conditioner regardless...
Thanks for what I assume will be a warm welcome!
