Hey im new to the boards, I've been reading them for awhile but I just got a username. I'm 19, and I started proscar(I cut it into 4ths) 9 weeks ago. I have diffuse thinnning pretty bad(my grandpa was bald at 25), and I'm gettting some ok results so far, like a good amount of short hairs growing in the front, but not really the middle or crown. Is that normal? also, I have long hair(about 6-7 inches) so will this affect how long it takes for it to look like my hair is getting thicker?

length of hair doesn't affect hair loss at all. it just might be worse if you're using topicals (as long hair makes it harder to evenly distribute 1ml of minoxidil everywhere).

but since you're using proscar, long hair is fine.

i doubt you are seeing regrowth that early... usually around month 4, it will take time (a year possibly +) to get full regrowth and reverse all miniaturization that is taking place

until the 6th month just worry about the sides, only worry about your hair and regrowth after then.
