All these new treatments on their way and in experimental stage.

Born too late to look cool while balding, born too early to access hair loss cures, balding just in time to be experimented on like a guinea pig.

A drug used to treat osteoporosis might hold a key to restoring hair growth, researchers in the U.K. claim.

That's not what's happening here. We've known this drug induces hair growth as a side effect for decades, yes, but it's side effects were way too hardcore for it ever to be reasonable used to treat hair loss. This study looked into just exactly how it induces hair growth, for the first time, and then found another drug that has that mechanism of action, but has negligible, if any, side effects.

And this other drug is already out there, so you can buy it and rub in your head today. Will it work? We don't know, they've haven't studied it yet. But we've good reason to think it will do something. It seems that this drug blocks a suppressor of the Wnt/B-Catenin pathway, which is the pathway the controls cell growth and proliferation, and has been implicated in Androgenetic Alopecia by a ton of studies.

This story came out a few years ago and was recently recycled in the news.
