there were two trials done, one on the crown and one on top. one was the phaseII and the other the phaseIII. The results were 66% maintainance and 83% maintanance. I don't know which is which, but I'm guessing it was at either the one year mark or the two year mark, and probably worse at the 5 year mark. Or maybe the 66% is at the 5 year mark.
look these stats don't really matter anyway, because every person is different and will respond differently. you should only really be concerned about yourself
well obviously I'm more concerned with my own personal progress, but I'd like to get an idea of where I'll be in five years, and my chances of responding well, and it would be good to know how well the AVERAGE person does on propecia. I would think most people would want to know how well propecia works for most people so that they can have a decent idea of how well they'll do, and I'm sure the conflicting statistics are confusing people other than myself. Both this site and propecia's site are fairly reputable, and it's confusing and disconcerting to see them post different statisitcs.
There isn't really an average; follicular sensitivity and DHT production are the bigtime factors, and you could have really high levels of both. Furthermore, we know quite a bit about what causes hairloss, but our knowledge is not completely comprehensive. I mean, look at the wide variety of patterns you'll find on this site. All that is to say there really is no "average". But one things for certain, you have a better chance of preserving your hair with propecia any way you twist these numbers.
