To give a perspective those suffering from diabetes type 1 still have to take their insulin and still with the most advanced treatment available are likely to have severe health problems, deteriorating eyes and internal organs.

I hear ya, man. I’m a pretty old guy and have been on the Internet with various hair loss communities for decades. I can’t even count the number of times I’ve heard/seen various news outlets and community post that say “in 5 years we’ll have a cure for hair loss”. How many times I’ve seen various science and media sites post articles about new discoveries that could lead to a cure. If I compiled a list of every article I’ve read, it would be multiple pages long. But here I am today, after all these decades, people are still getting crappy transplants and using drugs that were developed many years ago that had a side effect of growing a little hair or slowing the progression a little bit (finasteride, minoxidil). So when I see these articles and news headlines, it makes me feel like a sucker rather than hopeful. You might ask, then why am I still hanging around the community? Well, because sometimes there’s comfort being around people with the same health problems. A slight feeling of hope and support. That’s about it.

And when I see people speculate some type of future target date like “if you were born this decade, then you won’t have to worry about hair loss”, I’m wondering how they can possibly come to that conclusion given that we’re still using drugs that weren’t even invented for hair loss that are over 30 years old.

So yeah, I hear you. I wish they’d all shut the f$#& up until they really discover something you can actually apply to a timeline that has the data backing it (and I’m not talking about hair growing on a rat’s back).

Just ignore this guy, I think his mental health is not in good shape right now. I disliked his single post and he went through last 50 posts of mine to dislike every single one of them. Not a behaviour from healthy person for sure.
