So I use to use topical foam twice a day, I started taking 2.5mg oral min a day and 2x topical, but I upped it to 5mg because I wasn't having sides, now I am wondering

Can I just do 5mg morning, 2.5mg at night, and drop the topical bs completely?

Yep, you can drop it. The oral version reaches follicles better due to a high conversion of minoxidil to its active metabolite minoxidil sulfate via the sulfotransferase enzyme. That is a high dose of oral minoxidil, and I'm not sure there is a benefit to doses above 5mg. You can try, but just be aware you have a greater chance of sides.
