I'm currently research Oral Minoxidil. During my research, I read about Spironolactone and Pge2.

Has anyone used either of these? If so, did you have good results?

I'm currently trying True Niagen and Ubiquinol while I wait to try Finasteride (trying for a baby).

I'm 38. With diffuse thinning. Looking for anything that will thicken my existing hair.

Oral spironolactone or topical? I have used oral spironolactone, but the side effects due to it being a diuretic is not good.

Sorry, I should have clarified. I meant oral.

What side effects did you experience? Any benefits?

I used it in combination with estradiol, and it was providing results, although the extent of the results couldn’t reach a maximum since it was only used for two months before switching to another anti-androgen.

I’ll list some of the side effects which were experienced (at a dose of 200mg/day / 150mg/day):
  • Vertigo (this was the worst side effect for me)
  • Tiredness, constant tiredness.
  • Dehydrated skin (which lead to acne-like bumps forming)
In all honesty, it wasn’t worth the side effects, especially since it’s such a weak anti-androgen. You could still use it yourself, since everyone’s experiences are different.

I have been using oral minoxidil since last year, had a massive shed, so was hoping for great results, didn't happen, diffuse thinning on top got a bit better but my crown was still bad. Was on spironolactone for close to 5 months, too early to really make a valid assessment, good thing is that it's a diuretic so mitigates water retention from oral minoxidil,i lost nearly 12lbs in no time at all, im thinking that was mostly just water weight, i stopped spironolactone due to gyno concerns, but im a bit overweight and plan on hopping back on it once i have lost a bit. Only real sides i got from spironolactone was slightly reduced libido and less semen volume, practically none was coming out, it had already went down a lot due to dutasteride but got even worse on spironolactone.
