IBM - If you have read up on oral spironolactone and still want to give it a go, I say more power to you. As long as you know what you're getting yourself into, why not. It's very cheap to buy and is easy to find with no prescription.

As long as you know that you may have to deal with low libido & b**ch tits do it.

Agreed. Might as well just take oral ketoconazole if we're going to play such physiology games. At leat that blocks androgen synthesis everywhere including the adrenal glands. Taking it is more potent than an orchiectomy when it comes to the removal of total androgens from the body.

I was curious about the accuracy of that claim, so I looked around a little and found the following fascinating study:

They measured an average of about an 87% decrease in serum testosterone in healthy young men who took oral ketoconazole (as opposed to figures I've seen from castration that range around the the 90% - 95% level of suppression), but you also need to keep in mind that they used the very high dose of 1,600 mg/day of ketoconazole. Lower, more typical doses of the drug obviously wouldn't lower testosterone as much.

BTW, that study is very interesting for other reasons, too: it clearly shows that the aromatization of androgen into estrogen plays a VERY significant role in the HPTA regulation of testosterone production. That's been suspected for a long time, but the above study is very very convincing.

Almost one year of taking oral spironolactone 50 mg/day. I'd say that i maintained what i have. If i could fill my temples then I would be able to wear the open book hairstyle with no problemos.

IBM ,this thread is useless as i can testify i was taking doses varing from 100mg to 500 mg of oral spironolactone and i lost sh*t loads of hair and gyno

Thats the problem. And you didnt took the T and DHT levels checkup to see if your body is producing to much androgens.
