Ordering Minoxidil 5%, with BV or no? RA or no?

Hello,

I am planning to order Minoxidil5% from http://www.minoxidil.com however there are quite a number of version of it, specifically, i want to ask:

1) Shall i get the one with Betamethasone Valerate (BV) or no? What's the differences?

2) Shall i get the one with Retinoic Acid (RA) or no? What's the differences?

3) I am using Rogaine 2% now, will it affect my treatment if I am planning to continue to use Rogaine2% day and Minoxidil 5% night?

4) Finally, is it a good idea to order from that site?

Beta methasone is a cortizone i think,you dont need that its suppose to help if you experience any scalp problems from the minoxidil.The retinoic acid if memory serves me right is suppose to help with the absorbtion of minoxidil.and is used at night only.Since you've already been on the 2% my suggestion would be get on the 5% day night/kit or the Xandrox day/ night.And yes that site is cool its Dr. lee any questions you can email him he'll get right back

i have to agree with the no RA. it's not good for your scalp to chronically use RA.

A carefully adjusted dose of Retin-A can be good for hair growth, but too much will definitely get you in trouble! That's why I think it's ABYSMALLY STUPID to get minoxidil with Retin-A mixed in. Buy Retin-A separately so that you can adjust the dose easily...if it's mixed with minoxidil, you obviously can't change the dose of the Retin-A without simultaneously changing the dose of the minoxidil.

Bryan, how do you reccomend you start and then monitor the dosages of Retin-A? Also, how long should you wait to apply minoxidil after applying RA?

Oh, I dunno...maybe start with a small and/or infrequent dose, and gradualy increase it over a period of time. The moment you start to get any pain, redness, soreness, or irritation, back-off immediately! Wait for it to heal up, then start again at a lower dose. Keep it below the level where you start to get irritation.

Also, how long should you wait to apply minoxidil after applying RA?

I'll give Dr. Proctor's stock answer: it probably doesn't make any difference. Minutes or hours.
