Penis tingling as a finasteride side effect?

Been on finasteride for about 7 weeks now . . . libido has been higher than normal at times, lower than normal at times. But the thing I have noticed the most is that my dick (and to some extent my nuts) have this weird tingling sensation I'd say 1/2 the time. It's not a pleasant feeling, but I wouldn't call it an ache or pain like I see people talking about all the time. It's definitely in the penis more than the balls, too, which is something else I haven't heard of. It probably started 2-3 weeks ago, after I had been on finasteride about a month.

Anyone ever heard of this??

I had that and I took the drug for 11 months, experiencing loss of libido, genital numbness, ED and decreased semen volume.

Since quitting 20 months ago my dick and scrotum have never been the same. I attribute the tingling to the beginning of nerve/tissue damage as you are depriving your dick/scrotum of the androgens it needs (DHT) for proper function/tissue maintenance.

For me, that tingling lead to my dick/scrotum feeling more and more numb to the point where when I was on the drug, I'd touch the shaft/balls and they'd feel dead/no sensitivity/numb -- like when you wake up and your arm is asleep. This is still the case 20 months later after quitting.

I should have realized it at the time but I kept on the drug due to Merck's assurance that sides likely resolve while on the drug and if not, they should have when I quit. This has not been the case.

This is just my own personal experience and I'm not trying to scaremonger, this is simply what happened to me. But I'm telling you, I had the exact same tingling symptoms at first so I'd keep an eye on it and quit the drug if it gets any worse.

Frequently. Like I said, the tingling is about 1/3-1/2 the time...usually about 8-12 hrs after I take my dose (peak absorption point maybe?). Luckily, I stick it to the gf after that time.

The other day she mentioned she swallowed less than normal, so there's another Propecia side effect I'm experiencing. Erections seem OK, tho.

It's highly unlikely..same sex partner for a year now (my gf)..and the tingling (maybe I didnt describe it well enough) feels like its coming from inside...like my thing is being shrinkwrapped...if that makes any sense. I don't have any discharge or thing on my skin that would suggest an STD.

You know that volume of ejaculate is not an indicator of your sperm count, right? I tend to ejaculate a high volumem of fluid but my sperm counts are average in tests.

I don't know why I didn't think of this before - but it's probably a mild case of prostatitis. I've had it before, my dad gets it alot (and takes meds for it).

All the causes have been present lately - I've been drinking lots of caffeine/coffee and have been under way more stress and anxiety than usual for the past few weeks. I've heard finasteride can trigger a bout of prostatis, too (anecdotally, but ya'll might shoot that down).
