I decided to quit minoxidil after about 10 months of usage x2 a day. I would like to know about your experience during this time for the users who decided to quit and why? I know the effects of quitting are different for everyone but i would like to know what to expect.

When did you notice your hair was below baseline ?
Were you continuing other treatments during this time ?
Did your hair stablize or show any signs of regrowth after xxx amount of months ?

May I ask why you quit? The only logical answer to your question is - if you regrew hair on minoxidil, those hairs will fall out eventually and fail to regrow. Your existing healthy anagen hair probably wasn't even effected my minoxidil and wouldn't become dependent on it. For all you know, minoxidil may do nothing for you if your body doesn't contain the enzyme to catalyze it into it's functional form.

Around month 4 i began to experience a extremely itchy scalp along with dandruff. This continued for 5 months lost alot of ground and was shedding alot. Constantly scratching my head did not help either. My dermatologist said i had seborrheic dermatitis probably caused by minoxidil, she told me get off minoxidil and use a topical steroid for two weeks which i did. My itch is gone although i still have dandruff although not as bad and only noticeable if i scratch my head. Do you know how long it takes for your hair to become back to "normal" as if you never used minoxidil to begin with ? I sort of wish i never used it and just used finasteride and ru. I feel like i got a couple steps backwards because i had no choice but to quit min.

Which enzyme are you talking about? I never heard of doctors testing for any enzyme before prescribing it.

You were on the liquid form? Or foam? I think the foam is the better option for those with dandruff problems.

You could avoid the massive shed by weaning off. Just increasingly adding some water to it. Then it won't hit you as hard.

It has something to do with a sulfate enzyme, I believe. As long as there is terminal
hair in the area, there can be regrowth.

The question is, will it last?? Who knows.
