Hi. I am woman in my late 30's. I've had thinning hair for about 7 years now. I went to several tricologists and after 2 who didnt have a clue what they were talking about found one I felt I could trust. He said I had male pattern baldness and I spent 2 or 3 years getting treatment from him.

Six months ago I went to a dermertoligist who told me there was nothing wrong with my hair but thinning as I get older. He gave me about 5 minutes of his time. I decided I should believe the dermotoligist - somebody who had no financial gain over the tricologist who was costing alot. I've now stopped his treatment.

Has anybody had experiences of dermertoligists? Have they been helpful to others and proved right? I feel I have no choice to believe him while I sit here wondering what my hair is going to be like in 10/20 years time!

I have been to several dermatologists- including one who is *supposed* to be renouned in the field of hair loss. I flew 1600 miles round trip to see him yesterday. What an incompetent doddering old fool. He had no clue about all the latest research and clinical trials related to hair loss treatment. Same thing with endocrinologists.

My experience is that doctors are all uncaring jerks, who totally dismiss our concerns, and couldn't care less about our suffering.

It cost me $800. dollars to see the dermatologist yesterday, including the air fare.

You are so lucky that you do not have to pay for crappy treatment in the UK.
The bad dermatologists you saw wasted your time, but at least it didn't cost you a bundle of money, as it does in the US.
