ok so what are peoples thoughts on the percentages of men that have SEVERE hairloss (NW4) sectioned into different age groups as below.

note these figures are just guesses, and to show a structure, im intesrted in your input especially dudemon since he is as i was and has watch his peer group become bald around him.

Very Early young adult - 19-24

1%(aka, 1 out of every 100 men this age are bald)

Early young adult - 24-29

2%(aka, 2 out of every 100 men this age are bald)

^^note this includes the people who were bald as very early young adult, so thats 1% more new bald men.

Late young adult -30-35

3%(aka, 3 out of every 100 men this age are bald)

^^note this includes the people who were bald as early young adult, so thats 1% more new bald men.

Later young adult -35-40

4%(aka, 4 out of every 100 men this age are bald)

--- This age bracket matter MUCH less, so is split into 12 years apart.

Early middle aged - 40-52

6% (aka, 6 out of every 100 men this age are bald)

^^note this includes the people who were bald as young adults, so thats 2% more new bald men.

note: this is the age where the 3 actor stereotypes are, willis (47), stewart (47), statham w/ shoe (41).

Late middle aged 53 - 65

10% (aka, 10 out of every 100 men this age are bald, in other words 1 in 10 men are bald in this age group) < ok this figure seems way too high, but again these are just placeholders.

^^note this includes the people who were bald as young adults & early middle aged adults, so thats 4% more new bald men.

bullshit. I see around 50% are Norwood 4-7 after age 50. At least in my area. Also it's much more than 3% are rather bald between 30 and 40 yrs old.

yes the figures are just placeholders

if people on the forum could put a percentage to each of these, i would be grateful.

remember this is NW4.

as example

the 4 MAIN YOUNG peer groups

split into 5 year categories

Very Early young adult - 19-24 (2%)
Early young adult - 24-29 (7%)
Late young adult -30-35 (10%)
Later young adult -35-40 (15%)

--- This age bracket matters MUCH less, so is split into 12 years apart.

Early middle aged - 40-52 (20%)
Late middle aged 53 - 65 (35%)

the who gives a f*** peer group,

65 onwards (40- 70%)

again these are just placeholders, if everyone could give what they think that would be good.

Your figures are fucked up, the percentages are much higher than that. I'd say Michael84 is about right... at least when it comes to caucasian males.

im just interested because im collecting my thoughts on baldness, which includes the hairloss camps (sly, shoe, beard, hat), and the role models and other thingsin the media.

so i would like to know the statisctics of men who are bald by age, becuase its important.

Let me take a stab at it. If we are talking about NW4 and not just some degree of hairloss (ie. NW2-3) then:

19-24 - 1%. I would say its extremely rare to see a guy in this age group fully bald. Even severe cases are usually NW3 by this point.

25-30 - 5%. Still extremely rare.

31-35 - 15%. Still low but a lot more.

35-50 - 35%

50+ - 50%

You'd classify bald as NW4+ right? I wonder how much % is actually thinning as in, NW3 hairlines, bald spots, diffuse thinners ect.

Yeah, if you count all guys with general hair problems (receding hairline, thinning, or bald spot), then I guess the percentages will be quite bigger.

yeah, is hard to judge.

i mean a NW3 at 35 is not a big deal, you could have that for a while and never really be bald at least until 50, and look ok with it (examples willis and nicholas cage in movies with NW3s and looking cool)

but if your 24 and have a NW3 and look average, you can put yourself in that "oh f***" category becuase you already look 35 now anyway, might as well be slybald.

so the mentality of a NW3 or Bald spot person at 24 is differnt to someone at 35.

would be nice for other peoples opinions on the percentages.
