Hey guys,

Can anyone recommend a good cordless hair clipper? I’m looking at getting something that cuts it really fine. I don’t care about the adjustments and stuff because I won’t use them.

I want to avoid shaving the head so want some thing that can do the job reasonably close to that effect. Do I have to look for any particular settings in a clipper (for that extrememly fine cut) as I'm doing some research?

Also what things one need to keep in mind while purchasing one?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

I first started out with a very cheap generic hair clipper and after a few months it stopped doing its job. I replaced it with a Wahl and I've had no problems since. I also know someone who uses a Remington and they've had no problems. I think you'll be fine as long as you buy a decent brand; the really cheap ones just don't last.

I'm sorry I might be asking to be spoon fed out here. But I have don't some research and can't come across a good cordless one which gets the job done close to shaving.

And any thoughts on the Wahl product mentioned above. People really seem to be impressed with it. I read some reviews on Amazon. it's just not cordless, but if nothing else I can live with it.

I was more keen on cordless as its less cumbersome while traveling, which I plan to do a bit next year. I have cheap Remington one at the moment, it's starting to show signs of dying down now.

Thanks again

Cheers

All hair clippers can only go as short as a grade 0, which is basically stubble. If you want to go shorter then you have to use a razor or an electric shaver. A lot of men use the headblade, which is specially designed for head shaving. Perhaps you should look into that; apparently it is very easy to use.

Hi thanks for that Toocooforhair,

I looked into the head shaver you have mentioned, it's just that I want to avoid shaving if I can. Is it ok to use a electric shaver on the head, I mean is it any better then the Clipper ? A friend of mine did suggest that but I am a bit skeptical.

Can you suggest an electric shaver that might be good for the head. I have never used an electric shaver, have always been using the Mach3.

Cheers

My Wahl that I linked above have a pretty long cord and I haven't had a problem.

It always comes with a cordless travel unit but from what I understand it eats batteries fast.
