Predictions to when Propecia will finally be generic

Propecia is working out pretty good for me, I'm at the 4th month and my initial shed appears to have past. I can see the results already. Happy with the product.

Now when is it going to be generic and easily affordable, maybe only 200 to 300 a year?

If you dont mind me asking when did you see the drug start to work? What was the intitial shed like and did it recover? I am on it now and hairs have been dropping like crazy. Its been 4 months and I really havent seen any improvement only shedding. Just wondering what you saw and when. My doctor told me 4 months ago it should go generic in about a year so that would be about 8 more months.

My shed began around month 2 and was in the crown, and center area only. It was easy to tell just by the density. Now at almost exactly the 4th month, the thinning area is filling in nicely and small hairs have begun to fill in at my temples.

I am also 4 months into finasteride and experiencing exactly the same. Shedding, shedding and shedding. My hair is getting so goddamn thin and there is nothing I can do except for waiting for results....

I guess everyone is different because I have been on Finpecia for a little over 4 months, and I swear it seemed my shedding only lasted a few days. (Knock on wood!!)

Proscar has a legit US generic available.

I use it and I pick it up from a local drugstore.

Many generics that you can purchase in US pharmacies are not made in the US. At least one version of generic proscar is made in India, I believe

What really is surprising about these overseas places is no prescription needed. That saves another 100-125 off yearly hair pill bill.

I don't have a link, but it's generally known that Dr Reddy's markets generic finasteride in the United States as well as other prescription drugs. In fact, the first generic 5 mg pill marketed in the US was put out by Teva pharmaceuticals which is based in Israel, and I'm almost postive actually manufactured by Cipla. Do you honestly think every generic drug that you can purchase in a US pharmacy is actually made in the US? Call your local pharmacy and ask...they'll tell you.
