Pretty great results just adding Nizoral

OK so I've been using Regaine foam for close to 12 weeks now and have had limited success. It's really just stopped me losing hair rather than giving me any real regrowth. However for the last week I've started using Nizoral daily and it's made a great difference. My hair feels so much thicker and healthier and I think it's actually allowing the Regaine foam to work properly. I read somewhere that using Regaine on its own is like pouring water into a leaky bucket and that's how it felt but now I feel like it's doing what it's supposed to do.

I've attached two pictures below so you can compare. These were taken 8 days apart so of course there's a little bit of growth to take into account but overall I'm delighted :D

UPDATE: 9th Oct

Just want to give a quick update on this thread as to not give anyone reading it false hope. I've realised now that Nizoral and Regaine alone are not going to be enough. For the last week my hair has been thinning very badly. I realise now that at the point I took the second picture, I had been off finasteride for around 5 weeks and the nizoral gave my hair a very healthy and thick appearance. However in the last couple of weeks my hair has started thinning, almost certainly as a result of the DHT building back in my body. As of the 8th Oct I've stopped taking finasteride for 2 months and I now realise that there's no way I'm going to keep my hair without going back on it so I've ordered some more and am going to resume taking it, although in lower dosages.

At this point I realise that the minoxidil has been doing very little, I just assumed that it was allowing me to maintain but now I've started thinning so badly that I realise it was just a case of the DHT still leaving my body. I'm hoping that once I start taking finasteride again the regaine and nizoral will start having a better effect. I do still think Nizoral is an excellent product but I'm guessing it's more for inflammation which is why it gave my hair a very thick and healthy appearance for the first week or so. As a DHT inhibitor it is very poor.

I've put a picture taken earlier today to show where I'm at

I can't help wonder if there is any other factor involved, but that is an impressive result, and in just 8 days? Almost unbelievable, hope it continues at that pace! Are you on fn?

Nope not on finasteride. I was until about 2 months ago. I had to stop because of side effects.

I hope it continues at this pace too!

8 days :wow:
That's ridiculous, in a good way if real.

I promise you the first pic was taken 8 days ago. I'm pretty astonished at how much of a difference using Nizoral has made. I was pretty disappointed with Regaine up until now but I think using them both together is having a really great effect. I've never really tackled my hair loss using two products before. It's usually been either finasteride on its own, minoxidil on its own etc. but now I'm starting to see how effective it can be to use proven treatments together.

What type of Nizoral? And did you try Regenpure before?

It's the 1% Nizoral. No I never tired Regenepure. I was actually more drawn to other shampoos such as Regenepure and Revita since I heard they have better ingredients but they're too expensive for me to use everyday. Nizoral I was able to get for around £8.00 so that was the obvious choice for me.

Hmm I've used Regenpure for months with really no results like that (but I think it's helped my shedding big time). I wonder if there's a chemical difference between it and Nizoral..

Possibly. Now I've had such good results using Nizoral I probably won't switch. Remember I am using Regaine in addition to the Nizoral.

looking good!! however I suspect most of the progress is due to the minoxidil working. Either way just keep doing what your doing.

There might be some synergy going on between keto and minoxidil but it's definitely not the Nizoral alone.

I agree completely. I doubt Nizoral on its own would have this effect but it's certainly making the Regaine work a hell of a lot better. I'm actually surprised that Regaine don't create a keto shampoo of their own as a complimentary treatment to go with the foam.

You shouldn't have too much trouble finding either. I got the Nizoral from Amazon and the Regaine foam from eBay or a pharmacy

Just thought I'd add a couple more pics taken today. This is after 10 days of daily Nizoral use and 12 weeks of Regaine.

I'm still far from having a perfectly thick head of hair but it's definitely an improvement

I have used Nizoral 3x wk. for 6 years to help the Rogaine work more efficaciously and effectively. However, I noticed that sometimes my scalp gets a little irritated where I apply Rogaine. Aren't Keto shampoos like Nizoral also effective at reducing the irritation that Rogaine(foam) can cause? Maybe I could start using Nizoral everyday?

Just a quick update to this. I've noticed in the last week that my hair has started thinning quite badly so I'm going to go back on finasteride. I knew it was too good to be true that Regaine and Nizoral alone would be effective. I really wish there was some alternative to taking finasteride but it seems like it's the only viable option
