you could try taking a low dose of Arimidex with your finasteride. Arimidex will help to lower youre estrogen. Maybe try .25mg of Arimidex every second or third day.

is it really safe to use a drug for breast cancer to prevent gyno? has anyone else tried it?

Very widely used by bodybuilders to prevent gyno.

Personally I would favour femara or aromasin over arimidex and for maximum supression stack with nolvadex or raloxifene. If you really wanna cover your bases bromocriptine or cabergoline will help a lot too but first choice would be combining the options above.

what sort of dose of femara would be reasonable and long term will it have major impact on cholesterol levels/bone etc

If using over the long term then an SERM would be better. The best choice would be Evista. SERM's ensure estrogen like activity where we want it - in the liver which will help with cholesterol levels etc while stopping estrogen like activity where we don't want it - in breast tissue.

some good replys by everyone.

Use something like nolvadex. Its cheap and its a serm. This means it only lowers estrogen in the breast. I dont think its a good idea lowering whole body estrogen. I would take 20mg Nolva every second day and then every day if it gets worse.

ive started taking nolvadex 10mg every 3rd day, see how it goes.
the only thing worring me is the long term cancer risk of taking it for 2-3yrs (hopefully by then HM will be out!)
is that too low a dose to worry about cancer or is it the long term taking of the drug that's the problem?
