Those of you who know me know I quit minoxidil and finasteride due to having dark circles under my eyes. I have recently started 0.25g of propecia again and surprise surprise the dark circles have returned. This side effect is so frustrating because I really don't want to lose my hair but at the same time I don't want to look older than I am, got a beautiful new girlfriend now as well and don't wanna lose her. This side effect is due to decreased DHT in my blood stream or increased oestrogen? I have purchased some topical dht cream which I am going to apply under my eyes and hope this will erradicate the side effect, In they cease to go I will also use an ostrogen blocker medication. I suppose my questions can be summed up as the following:
1. In your opinion are these dark circles caused by decreased DHT or increased ostrogen? (there are studies which confirm both)
2. What is the cheapest drug which will take away ostrogen from my blood stream?
3. How many hours is propecia in your bloodstream? (I need to know this because after the x amount of hours it takes to leave that's when I need to apply topical DHT under my eyes.)
4. Generally what else can I do about this frustrating side effect apart from quitting propecia.?

Try sleeping at least 8 hours per night for a week straight. Post before and after photos.

Can you please post some pictures of the eyes only to quantify your phenomena?

Look I am really glad you experience no side effects and if I got these supposed weak erections I would still take proepcia. I feel really alienated to be fair with this side effect because although others have reported it no one seems to be able to help me. I have read studies that DHT plays a role in skin thickness and that increased eostrogen makes dark circles appear (when girls go ont he pill). I really wish someone could tell me that if I stayed on it they would go down in 12 months or whatever but then i gamble the risk of premature aging if they dont go down. seriously this is the only thing stopping me taking propecia (i recently stopped 0.25)l hell I miht start taking it again and live with them. I mean this girl even said have you been punched int eh eye i rememebr when i started taking it last year. I'm not going to whine and say 'why me?' but I would really liek to get to the bottom of this I really would ha ha.

Refer to my sig. It might be happening, but it is certainly not one of the documented side effects in the Merck finasteride study.
