Hello all, my first post, will be lenghty and contain some graphical language (hopefully ok here?)..
Background: I'm 27 now and still have "great hair" as I hear from time to time but I was about 24 when I first noticed minor thinning at the top. Luckily so minor that I almost completely forgot it for a long time.. until the spring this year when I got a hair cut and then it was obvious at least to me that thinning is much more visible. Also the frontal line had suffered a bit. I panicked, checked all websites (including this one), understood the alternatives, and decided to give Propecia a try after summer holidays. (I've already been using Nizoral twice a week for a year now because of dandruff - Nizoral really does the trick, some Head&Shoulders is just a waste of money with dandruff.)
I took my first Propecia on September 1st. After a couple of days my libido went up and I ejaculated more than usually, I also had some aching in my testicles. At the end of the week I think I also had more greasy face skin than usually. But my main concern was definetely the aching.
Then things started to settle down. During the second week my erection softened noticeably (even the "always there" morning erection was gone), but then again testicle aching was more unusual than during the first week. I had hard time to get even an soft erection, I ejaculated very little, but what I did, was looking normal. I was worried of course, but I thought my body is just adjusting itself to the drug from outside.
To my relief, during third week, things have gotten better. Testicle aching has almost vanished, it's easier to get an erection (still not what it used to be, I bet you don't want to hear the details but maybe I could say the situation is "80% from normal"), and ejaculation and especially greasy skin problems are also resembling the situation before Sep 1st.
Nothing has happened to my hair so far (of course). I've now already concluded that I'm not among the lucky ones who get away with "zero side effects" but my side effect situation is not alarming, or what do you others think?
I'll be posting my next report probably after next three weeks. If somebody has had similar start to mine with Propecia 1mg, I'd like to hear what to expect next? And of course I'll tell more if someone wants to know.
Ps. Thanks to everyone contributing to this forum making this place what it is.
