Propecia and acne

i've been on propecia for a few days (started on 1mg the first two but just started to cut down to .25mg) anyway, i'm open to see what happens and not jump to anymore conclusions about the sides, but one thing that has happened rather quickly is that acne along my back has just broken out tremendously. the thing is i am very prone to getting cystic acne on my face and back which is why i went on accutane a few months ago (just finished in febuary and have been clear ever since). I've never gotten the type of acne that i have on my whole back (just on my shoulders in the past and not the type of acne i have now only cystic) as i do now though so i do attribute it to the finasteride without question. anyway, my question is will this acne eventually go away??? i know a number of people experience acne while on finasteride so any answers to this will be appreciated.

Theoretically your body will become used to the hormone changes and level out although if I were you I'd expect it to fluctuate.

Uk thanks for the response. today the acne seems to be calming down and doing much better. if it does eventually go away as long as it stays pretty much where it is on my back and doesn't get any worse when it does return i can live with it. i had cystic acne for so long that this doesn't seem as bad since it's just like a pimple sort of rash if you know what i mean. its just frusturating when you go on one thing such as accutane to clear up one problem and then it may have accerlated my hair loss (i feel i would have gotten MBP anyway as it started before the accutane but im sure it didnt help) and then you take another drug that causes another thing etc. it's like some days i'm telling myself there's no way i can take this drug but others i feel there's no way i want to go bald. i'm hoping the intial shock of taking 1mg to my system was just too much (as i am smaller guy) and at .25mg i should have some good results.

I've definately experienced a bit more acne, it is indeed slightly frustrating.. I'd rather keep my hair and deal with a few random spots personally.

I started on Propecia on 2nd January and about four weeks later I got severe and painful acne on my back.

I used to get it on my shoulders from using biological washing powder, but now I use non-biological so I don't think it's that.

I added MSM with vitamin C to my regime two weeks ago and the acne has calmed down. This may be a coincidence and I'm adjusting to the Propecia, but MSM is recommended as an acne treatment so it could be that.
