propecia and getting chunky

hey all,

don't want to bother everyone with another newbie type question, but can someone point me to a search thread where I can learn more about how finast effects body weight and bodyfat. I've been on it for a little bit and am noticing i have to work much harder to keep the pouch off my belly.

Finasteride *can* increase estrogen which can result in slightly more chubbiness, but its typically negligible. Those who are already slightly chubby can tend to see more of this than someone who is thin by nature.

Its very interesting that some people are actually gaining fat while on finasteride. I have noticed that my body has become a bit more leaner and I feel like I have gained alittle muscle. Im very athletic and lean but havent changed my excerice habits since I started the big 3 and I do notice definition in my stomach and my arms. Although, I do notice a bit more body hair as well.

It seems that some people have opposite effects to finasteride. I know we've talked about how taking finasteride can lead to more testosterone in your blood stream. And how taking finasteride can cause more estrogen. Very odd.

Give it some time.. I too got leaner in the beginning of my finasteride usage. You've only been on it for about 5 or so months.. Once you hit the 9th/10th month things may turn around. Hopefully they won't for your sake.. but they did for me.

zak how long on propecia? I just got rid of all my fat (192lbs to 165 lbs) and I dont want to get my chubby face back
