Propecia and having kids

Hi guys, first time poster, been reading for a bit.....
I am 23 and am starting to notice some slow thinning in the crown area. I was thinking of starting propecia, but have read that if you intend on having kids in a few years it may not be a good choice because of possible interaction with the potential fetus and so on. Is this true? Can someone be so kind to tell the facts? Also, would rogaine 5% be a better alternative in my case?

Thanx in advance and look forward to sharing information on the forums

Finasteride does not impair fertility and there is no evidence of mutagenesis or teratogenesis in male recipients of the drug. So, as far as we know, it is ok for a male to take it. It can cause problems in external male genitalia development if a pregnant woman takes it so it is contraindicated for them.

finasteride and babies

I'd ask my doctor about it. Pregnant women aren't even supposed to touch the stuff with their skin.
