propecia and regrowth

I just started 1mg of finasteride about 2 wks ago, just wondering if it is stupid to think that finasteride alone can get you some regrowth? seems like it may maintain a little. has anyone had regrowht on finasteride alone?

Realistically you will get a little bit of regrowth but not much. You may be lucky and be one of the really strong responders, but count anything beyond maintenance and perhaps a little regrowth as a bonus.

I'm taking 1mg of finasteride for two weeks with no other regimen , expecting to at least maintain and regrowth would be great. I feel it is working because I dont shed like before taking propecia but hopefully i won't have the initial shade phase. I'm thinking for positive results if not then I can move on the next hairloss treatment and get at least my refund from merck.

so regrowth being hairs that have left... and come back again?

I'm hoping to thicken up a lot of the finer hairs on my head with only finasteride 1mg and nizoral. Is that realistic?

Most people get maintenance and a little thickening and perhaps even some minor regrowth. In the long run you will have a lot thicker hair by taking Finasteride than not because you will not continue to deteriorate and hairloss will be stalled or dramatically slowed down. What isn't likely is a huge turning back of the clock. Only a few lucky beggars get that. You might be one of them, but be realistic in your expectations.
