Hi, I'm new to this forum and need some questions anwsered, ive been reading around and a lot of you seem to know your stuff so if anyone could give me advice i'd greatly appreciate it.

See, i'm 18 and have been experiencing hair loss for a while now. I went to my demeratologist and finally yesterday he told me that i'm in the early stages of female pattern baldness (they cut some of my scalp and did a test on it) My dermatologist then perscribed PROPECIA for me to use and he said that even though its a male drug females use it too. ( funny how all of this took no more then 5 mins)

So i've been wondering if anyone has used Propecia? I've been researching it on the internet and have read some scary stuff for women and i'm just really scared to use it but i dont know what else i can do. Its really gotten to me mentally, i've never been so depressed... I get my perscription today, so if anyone could help i'd really appreciate it. Also i'm wondering abut rogaine i never asked my dermatologist about it, and im not sure if i can use it or not??

Even 18 is young for a male to get on it.

I would definitely suggest getting a second opinion from a dermatologist or doctor before you do it.

For men, the most proven and reliable way of growing hair back is

Propecia (finasteride)
Rogaine (minoxidil)
Nizoral Shampoo (ketoconazole)

Rogaine is actually very successful treating women. You might want to try that drug first.

Propecia is not recommended for women because of the chance of passing on birth defects in the male fetus.

PROPECIA & ROGAIN

I USED ROGAIN FOR A LONG TIME (MAY BE 2-3 YEARS).
IT STARTED TO HELP AT THE BEGINING TO HOLD HAIR LOSS.
BUT WITH THE TIME I NOTICE THAT I HAVE LESS & LESS HAIR ANY WAY. IT IS ONLY SLOWED MY HAIR LOSS, BUT THEY WILL DISAPEAR ANYWAY.
SO I STOPED TAKING IT & AS YOU KNOW AFTER THIS MY HOLDING BY ROGAIN HAIR FALL OUT IN 3 MONTH.
THEREFORE I WASTED PROBABLY $2000.

PROPECIA - I RESERCH THAT IT DOES NOT HELP WOMEN (SHOULD BE TAKEN BY MEN ONLY)
