Propecia causing constipation?

I started fincar 11 days ago and already i've noticed that my hair loss has slowed down dramatically. for example, running my hands through my hair doesn't cause tons of hair to fall out.

However, I've also felt this bloated feeling for the past week. bowel movement is kinda slow and whatever i pass is tiny bits. Is this a known side effect?

This is completely wrong. One of the reported sexual side effects was a loss of libido, as well as erectile dysfunction, etc.

Not to say some people couldn't get an increased libido, but a reduction in sex drive is far more likely.

No, 10 % of men have increased sex drive...look it up if u dont believe me, although u are right in that 2 % have decreased sex drive

It seems that every message i post is about prostatitis....

I'm giving my spin on it, and disagree with it if you want BUT get your prostate checked.

It could be a sign of a boggy prostate that's making you feel constipated.

research prostatitis and constipation and you will see.

the prostate will block some of the colon which makes you feel constipated.

The reason why I add this is because I went through the same thing.

I am not imagining things and if you read the description about propcia on this website, you will notice that the author does mention people with prostatitis as one of their side effects.

Ok sorry bout what i said earlier you might be right...propecia is supposed to shrink the prostate tho, i dont see how that would block the colon[/b]

Right... it shrinks the prostate at first. but if you do experience sides, it'll do the opposite in my opinion.

the point i'm trying to make is that for me I think the propecia either screwed up my DHT receptors in the prostate which eventually led to hormonal prostatitis OR the shrinkage trapped some natural bacteria and incubated bacteria which led to prostatitis.

Either way, it screwed up my prostate pretty badly and I'm finally recovering after 1 year... Others who did get side effects seem to have something similar.... but then again, not everyone gets the sides.. (your gamble).

Propecia (1mg of finasteride) does not shrink the prostate. 5mg is the amount of finasteride that does shrink the prostate.

it does nothing to the size of the prostate... jesus...

and it does not cause bacterial infections...

drink water and eat food with fiber for constipation problems...
